Deputies Apprehend Burglars Fleeing From Scene After They Stop To Tie Down Loot On Getaway Car
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
On Sunday morning, May 17th, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to the area of Dempsey Loop in unincorporated southern Gordon County in response to a report of a burglary-in-progress at a private residence. A witness provided the 911 Center with a description of an automobile which was quickly located nearby. Two individuals, subsequently identified as Jose Hernandez, age 29, and Mary Stevenson, age 28, both of Adairsville, Georgia were arrested without incident on Dempsey Loop where the arresting officers found them tying down items they’d stolen in the burglary to the top of their car. Both defendants were lodged in the county jail and charged with two (2) counts of 1st Degree Burglary. The car was impounded.
