Calhoun Woman Arrested For Aggravated Assault and Cruelty to Animals

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At about 4 p.m. Saturday, August 2nd, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Landon Court in the Newtown Community in response to a report of a woman intentionally running over a male acquaintance as well as a dog with her automobile. Deputies who responded to the scene noted tire marks at the scene, but the perpetrator, subsequently identified as one Jada Elizabeth Davis, age 23, of Artesian Well Road, Calhoun, Georgia, had fled the scene. The victim declined medical attention according to reports. Davis was arrested a short time later and a short distance away by other deputy sheriffs. Sheriff’s detectives have charged her with Aggravated Assault and Cruelty to Animals. She is in jail pending bond proceedings. Investigating officers believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
