Calhoun Woman Arrested For Drug Trafficking, Sale of Methamphetamine

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

In early June, 2013, Sheriff’s detectives initiated an investigation into the activities of alleged drug trafficking by a local woman in the Sonoraville community. During the course of this investigation, detectives conducted extensive covert and electronic surveillance. The detectives also conducted 2 ‘controlled’ purchases from the suspect at a private residence on Folsom Road. Subsequently, detectives obtained arrest warrants charging Ashley Nichole Defoor, age 25, of 608 North Henderson Bend Road with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, and Sale/Distribution of Methamphetamine. Early Tuesday morning, July 9, deputy sheriffs located Defoor at the residence of a third party after receiving a tip regarding her whereabouts. Defoor was taken into custody at a home on Town Creek Drive. Upon being apprehended , Defoor swallowed some unknown substance.  The arresting deputies found a handgun and suspected methamphetamine in Defoor’s purse. Defoor was subsequently hospitalized for several hours until she was booked in to the county jail Tuesday afternoon (July 9) pending bond proceedings.
