Collision on Interstate 75 Wednesday November 19th Leads to Drugs, Counterfeiting Charges for Atlanta Man

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

Wednesday morning, November 19th, deputy sheriffs and other emergency personnel were dispatched to Interstate 75 (southbound) near Resaca in response to a report of an automobile collision. Deputies, along with state troopers from local State Patrol Post 43 arrived to find that an automobile had in fact left the roadway, was severely damaged, and the female driver was seriously injured. An ambulance, and later a helicopter was summoned to evacuate her from the scene. As the officers continued their investigation on the scene, they determined that a male acquaintence of the injured driver, subsequently identified as one Ryan McCray Walker, age 33, of 2296 Dresden Drive, Atlanta, Georgia, had been following her in another vehicle and had stopped when she crashed. After learning that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest from a neighboring jurisdiction, deputies arrested Walker and found several hundred dollars in counterfeit US currency on his person, along with suspected methamphetamine. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the county jail. A subsequent search of Walker’s automobile revealed a color copier/printer and cutting and measuring devices that detectives believe were used in the production of the counterfeit bills. Walker remains in the county jail pending bond, charged with Forgery (in connection with the counterfeit money) and Possession of Methamphetamine.
