Deputies Arrest Dalton Man During Burglary-in-Progress Near Calhoun
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
At approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, September 24th, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a Cherry Street address in unincorporated Gordon County near Calhoun in response to a report of a burglary in progress. Deputies arrived and discovered a suspicious vehicle on the property and met with witnesses who’d observed a suspicious male individual placing items in the truck. Deputies located and detained this suspicious subject, subsequently identified as one Steven Keith Westfall, age 39, of 2471 Ridge Road, Dalton, Georgia. Westfall was taken into custody without resistance. His truck was impounded and examined by detectives for evidence. The property believed to have been taken in the burglary was recovered. Westfall has been charged with Burglary in the Second Degree and remains in the county jail pending bond proceedings.
