Deputies Arrest Three in Two Burglaries This Weekend

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

Early Saturday morning (August 6) deputy sheriffs were dispatched to the Moose Lodge on Prater lake Road in response to an alarm. Upon arrival, deputies found glass broken out of the front door, The deputies entered the building and discovered a man inside who tried to flee from them. The man briefly resisted arrest but was quickly subdued and taken into custody. Detectives have charged Mitchell Edward Fowler, age 63, of 425 Hunts Gin Road with Burglary. Fowler is lodged in the county jail pending bond.

In an unrelated event, at about 1 p.m. the same day (Saturday, August 6), deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Oak Grove Road in response to a report of a residential burglary. The intruders had been interrupted by the property owner who made photographs of them and their automobile. A deputy sheriff on patrol located the vehicle a short time later in the nearby Scottsville  community. A search of the car revealed items taken from the home. The car’s occupants, Billy Joe Smith, age 25 of 211 Coachman Way, Resaca, and Sabrina Marie Jones, age 24, of the same (Resaca) address were arrested without incident and each charged with Burglary.
