Deputies Respond to Burglary-In-Progress,  Arrest Calhoun Man For Residential Burglary

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At approximately 12:30 p.m. today (July 22) deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence off Dews Pond Road near Calhoun in response to a report of a residential burglary-in-progress. A witness took a picture of the fleeing suspect vehicle with a cellular telephone and provided it to the investigating officers. This photograph enabled deputies to locate the suspect within 90 minutes, who was still in the same neighborhood. Deputies apprehended Robert Mitchell Grace, age 39, of 265 Stendal Drive, Calhoun, Georgia, without incident. Grace was subsequently charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree as well as Burglary in the 2nd Degree by Sheriff’s detectives in connection with the incident. He is in jail pending bond proceedings.
