Eight Arrested For Methamphetamine in Three Separate Incidents This Week

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

1. At about 10am Monday morning (March 9th), a deputy sheriff on patrol on Interstate 75 South stopped a suspicious automobile for traffic violations near Calhoun. A subsequent search of the passenger compartment revealed methamphetamine and a wide variety of drug related paraphenalia. The 3 occupants, subsequently identified as Christina Carolea Baker, age 23, of Woodbine, Kentucky, Bobby Dewayne Lovitt, age 38, also of Woodbine, Kentucky, and Douglas T. Warfield, age 36, of Corbin, Kentucky were all taken into custody at the scene without incident and lodged in the county jail. They have all been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and are awaiting bond proceedings.

2. In an unrelated incident, at about 3pm Monday afternoon (March 9th), a deputy sheriff on patrol on Interstate 75 North near Union Grove Road stopped a suspicious vehicle for a traffic violation. A subsequent search of the passenger compartment of this car revealed  methamphetamine, a handgun with 2 loaded magazines, and extensive documents which investigating deputies believe to contain records of drug transactions. The occupants, Amanda Diane Woodcock, age 28, of Maynardville, Tennessee, Frankie Lee Robison, age 40, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Joshua Leroy Cooper, age 31, also of Knoxville, Tennessee, were all taken into custody at the scene without incident and lodged in the county jail. They have all been charged with methamphetamine and weapons related offenses and are awaiting bond proceedings.

3. In another unrelated incident, at about 11:30 am, Wednesday (March 11th), a deputy sheriff on patrol on Interstate 75 North near Resaca stopped a suspicious vehicle for a traffic violation. A search of the passenger compartment of this automobile using a Sheriff’s Office canine (‘K9’)  revealed over half a pound of methamphetamine for resale. The 2 occupants, identified as Christopher Love, age 41, of Bethpage, Tennessee, and Christopher Wayne Kemp, age 42, also of Bethpage, Tennessee, were both arrested at the scene without incident and lodged in the county jail. Both defendants told the arresting officer they were en route to meet their friend “Christopher”. They have both been charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and are awaiting bond proceedings.
