Three Month Investigation Results in 6 Arrests for Meth Trafficking and Distribution in Plainville/Scottsville Community

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports: 

On Wednesday afternoon, April 22nd, deputy sheriffs from the Sheriff’s Community Watch Unit culminated a 3 month long investigation into the trafficking and distribution of methamphetamine in and about the Plainville/Scottsville community in western Gordon County.The three month investigation concentrated on illegal drug activity in the Plainville and Scottsville communities, and consisted of many man-hours of covert surveillance and undercover work. Three teams of deputy sheriffs arrested a total of 6 defendants and simultaneously executed 3 search warrants as part of the operation. A search warrant was executed at a garage/warehouse at 137B Franlklin Road, and two other search warrants executed at private residences at 508 Plainville Road and 164 Miller Road. Deputies removed a variety of objects as physical evidence pursuant to the warrants. The proprietors of the garage/warehouse on Franklin Road had installed outdoor surveillance cameras on the property.

The following persons were arrested as part of this Operation:

1. Shane Joseph VanDyke, age 40, of 500 Plainville Road, Multiple Sales of Methamphetamin, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Marijuana,

2. Kimble Hall, age 49, of 164 Miller Road, charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine,Multiple Sales of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute,

3.  Patricia Lynn Crumley, age 47, of 508 Plainville Road, charged with multiple Sales of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Methamphetamine,

4. Aubrey Allen Bowling, age 38, of 165 West Kinman Road, charged with multiple Sales of Methamphetamine,

5. James Lamar Rice, age 65, of 658 Riverbend Road, charged with multiple Sales of Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine,

6. Crystal Sue Partion, age 30, of 122 Peters Street (Calhoun), charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, and Violation of Probation,

The same warehouse at 137B FRanklin Road was raided by deputy sheriffs in March, 2012 in another drug related operation, wherein a large number of firearms were seized at that time.

Four of the six defendants,  Partion, Bowling, Hall, and Van Dyke are all reported as being on probation for previous offenses. All six defendants are being held in the County Jail pending bond.
