Ranger Man Arrested After Fleeing Accident Scene, Forcing Entry Into Home

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

Shortly after midnight, Friday, February 28th, deputy sheriffs responded to the area of the 2700 block of Red Bud Road near Calhoun to the report of a suspicious person in a mobile home park, quickly followed by a report  of an intruder in a nearby home. Deputies had initially been sent to the same area to investigate a one car automobile accident. The homeowner who reported the intruder actually held the perpetrator, subsequently identified as one Justin Tyler Campbell, age 23, of 1500 Pleasant Hill Road, Ranger, Georgia, at gunpoint until the arrival of deputies. After being arrested, Campbell damaged a Sheriff’s Office automobile. He was booked into the county jail in an “intoxicated state” and later charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Damage to Property, and Interfering With Government Property by Sheriff’s detectives, as well as DUI and Leaving the Scene of an Accident by the State Patrol. He remains in the county jail pending bond.
