Sheriff Uses Multi-Tasking to Help Colleagues

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

Although the Sheriff’s Office often aids State and other local law enforcement agencies with law enforcement matters, another, less well known, kind of assistance often comes in the form of the Sheriff’s multi-talented staff. A number of deputies are former mechanics and technicians who chose the Sheriff’s Office as a second career, and Sheriff Ralston makes full use of their talents. In addition to installing/removing and repairing emergency equipment such as blue lights and sirens and electronic devices, Sheriff’s Office technicians also install and repair equipment for the Calhoun Police, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, and other (Gordon) County agencies. Sheriff Ralston said, “I ‘m fortunate to have so many staff members with lots of different skills. We save thousands of dollars each year in repair and maintenance costs. For example, one of my deputy/technicians installs and repairs all of our blue lights, with spare parts we maintain in stock. And we’re always glad to help out our justice system colleagues. Our most recent project was repairing a Calhoun Police motorcycle this week. It’s a great cost saving and convenience measure for everybody concerned.”
