Sheriff & Other Officials Investigate Drowning

Sheriff Mitch ralston Reports:

At approximately 10:15 p.m. last night (August 18) deputy sheriffs and other emergency personnel were dispatched to a lake on private property off Craigtown Road near Resaca in response to a report of a drowning. Deputies, County Fire-Rescue Personnel and Georgia DNR officials initiated a search by boat of the area after a woman reported that her male acquaintance had went under as they were swimming. At approximately 11:15pm, emergency personnel removed the body of a white/male from the water which was identified as being that of the missing swimmer. Foul play is not suspected. The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff’s Office, the Coroner’s Office, and the DNR.
