Traffic Stop Results in Large Meth Seizure and Arrest of Fugitive

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At approximately 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, August 26th, a deputy sheriff stopped a suspicious automobile on Pleasant Hill Road in the Ranger community in eastern Gordon County. The car was occupied by Justin Lee Cronan, age 30, of 2547 Taylortown Road, Ranger, and Wesley Brandon Owens, age 33, of 7907 Red Bud Road, Ranger. An inquiry through through law enforcement records revealed that there was an outstanding warrant for Cronan’s arrest for Violating Parole. A subsequent search of their automobile revealed a large quantity of methamphetamine for resale. The methamphetamine had a ‘street’ value of $50,000.00. Both defendants were arrested without incident and are lodged in the county jail charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
